Harvest Health
Welcome, Fall.
As the moon nestles our days into cozy pockets and the Earth begins to pull down her leafy blanket, there is a sense of steady plateau. After a full summer and a surprisingly busy return to work, I am finding space to reflect on the interactions I have been having. Choosing to limit new clients means that this time has been rich with deepening existing connections, whether that has been in my office if you've returned or by having you in my thoughts if you remain in retreat. I pay close attention to the conversations we have — noting common themes that come up and always finding a certain curiosity when I hear topics and concerns repeat across many lives. With the seasonal shift, it is usual to feel a general sense of change. This time of year, that usually lines up with the cyclical harvest of the land around us and is reflected in our own patterns. In consideration of the year we have been living, I invite you to think of what is ripe now in your life, body and mind. What did you plant in Spring's imposed pause? Those seeds could have now grown, perhaps even unknowingly. What has come from losing, increasing or completely changing what your work looks like? Perhaps you began, adjusted or lost an exercise or meditation routine. How is that showing up in your body now? Did you start gardening, baking or building? I bet that has shifted your surroundings. Maybe the events of this year have left collateral damage in your life. How is your health if stress, anxiety or addiction are becoming chronic?
This has been a huge year. And no matter how little or how heavily you have been impacted, I applaud you for taking moments to live it consciously. I am captivated by the conversations we have been having and the opportunities which are being grasped to deepen connections to our bodies, our minds and our community. What about me? Changes in my life are no exception. I am still on a high from hiking the 53 km loop of Cape Chignecto last month, I cut off ALL of my hair, my classes at MSVU continue online and I just turned 40 (!!!) on Sunday. I strive to maintain my practices, attend to my own bodywork and enjoy the best of this season. And I am keen to connect if you're interested in doing the same.
I wish you a peaceful and abundant Fall harvest and remain open and excited to work with you towards your highest good.
Best,
Alicia
