About Alicia
Alicia discovered massage therapy school in 2003 after Plan A fell through. Her very first anatomy class sparked a curiosity for wellness which continues to burn and fuel an introspective journey through inner space. She worked through her first professional decade in the physiotherapy world, primarily focused on deep tissue work for physical rehab, acute injury and chronic pain. Through her exposure to osteopathy, she began training in craniosacral therapies and ventured briefly into reiki. Her personal path led her deep into her yoga & meditation practices which she began integrating into her bodywork styles. After delving deeper into the spirit/mind/body connection and following curiosities of trauma induced tensions, Alicia finally felt pulled to venture out on her own. In 2015, she parted from the safety of her national company and began an independent practice. By 2016, she was partnered to open a studio on Halifax’s diverse Gottingen Street sector which served to hold space for yoga, massage therapy, aligned partnerships and community workshops, eventually running the business on her own. Most recently, a series of events led Alicia to close this venture and refocus solely on her massage therapy practice once again. She couldn’t be happier to be able to go back to her former space on Agricola Street and continue to serve the North End.
Personally, Alicia has been an active member in the LGBTQ+ community and an advocate for safe and comfortable access to health & wellness services for people identifying as transgendered. Beyond treating soft tissue injury and imbalance, Alicia is passionate about holding open space for vulnerability & release and serves as a tool on the path of healing, growth and the realization of one’s highest potential. Alicia is a mum to two, a partner to one, a dog & cat owner, an avid outdoor explorer, a seeker of Self, a believer of universal good and a lover of the written word.
Come, be open and work with Alicia to let go of what no longer serves you and make space for the greatness which awaits.
